Tim Tebow | Class Act
Tim Tebow is at it again, showing the world how he is a class act. In 2006, Tim played as the quarterback for the Florida Gators. This Heisman Trophy winner helped his team defeat favored Ohio State in the National Championship. He went on to play in the NFL. Although his tenure in the NFL was not what Tim had hoped, he kept his theme message the same: Loving people and pointing them to Christ. Furthermore, he has carried this same message with him, and he is now pursuing a baseball career and playing on the Mets minor league team.
This past week, Tim Tebow was signing autographs after the game, when a man collapsed. The man was suffering from a seizure. Tim saw what was happening, and he went over to the man. Sitting on the concrete retaining wall, Tim prayed for the man, while a medic attended to him. As the man began to regain consciousness, Tim carried on a conversation with him until the paramedics could arrive. Not only did Tim pray and stay with the man until the arrival of paramedics but he also he signed a baseball and his sweat bands for the man.
In John 13:34, the Bible says, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.”
Tim Tebow’s genuine care and concern for others serve as an example of this verse’s command to Christians. Tim models in his life how Christ loved and cared for others. May we as Christians always follow in Christs’ footsteps of loving others and showing the world that we care about them. Remember, our lives should always point others to Christ.
