How to Apostille Child Abuse Clearances

The Child Abuse Clearances will be done with the assistant of your social worker.  The social worker will ask you where all you’ve lived since your 18th birthday.  Afterwards, she will contact each individual state, or foreign country’s, child abuse registry in order to obtain proof that you don’t have a record.  The social worker will input the findings of each clearance, for each of you in the home study.  Afterwards, he/she will not give you the physical records issued by each state (or foreign country) so that you can authenticate them by getting an apostille.  If you would like to educate yourself on what an apostille is, you can read about it here.
