How To Apostille a Document for Adoption in South Carolina?

The green documents are “green” because I want to help you group them together in the sense that they will all be going together to get an “Apostille” from the Secretary of State in SC.

In order to get an Apostille a document in SC, you need the 2 following steps. 

1.  Get document notarized by a notary

2.  Send to SC Secretary of State for Apostille at:

Columbia, SC 29201

SC Charges $5 per Apostille.  

Please make sure that check is made out to “South Carolina Secretary of State” for the fees owed for the apostilles. 

Please use Fed Ex or UPS to mail this, and please include a pre-paid self addressed envelope for SC to return the apostilled docs to you.  (Please have a tracking number).
